I cannot recommend this highly enough. Central location makes easy access to the town and its charm. Denis is the ultimate hospitable host making one feel as if this was his home to which we are welcomed. Rooms are divine with coloured walls, clean and luxurious bathrooms and beds to die for. The Casa centres around the living spaces -... More

This was an amazing end to a wonderful short holiday in Mexico, largely in the Yucatan. Casa Hamaca is both beautiful and comfortable in US style of elegance and space. It was the icing on the cake for us, having had lovely experiences throughout our trip, in places as diverse as Playacar, Puerto Calakmul eco-resort hotel, a lovely family home... More

You wrote such wonderful words about Casa Hamaca Guesthouse and your experience there and then you gave us a "Terrible" review. What's that all about? More

We just adored our stay at Casa Hamaca. The house is just perfect with everything you need, cotton sheets on the large beds, clean, relaxing, and someone speaking english to guide you and advise you. The massage was fantastic - Thanks Rosa. Location was unbeatable with a small park with local families playing with their children and hipster cafe (mexican... More

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Hamaca. From the moment we arrived, Denis was welcoming and helpful. Within 10 minutes of arriving, we weer enjoying a beer on the front porch with other travelers as well as locals. The location is great - just a 5 minute walk to the center of town, and to a number of good... More

All that people have written before about Denis's 'family' at Casa Hamaca is true. From the minute you arrive you feel at home - greeted by the lovely people who work there. It is well placed for walking into the town and for various restaurants (we enjoyed Conatos and Casa de los Frailles for dinner, another lovely place on the... More

After 4 days fishing in Punta Allen I wanted to find a place where I could relax, but still find interesting. So I turned to Valladolid and Casa Hamaca. I thought maybe some ruins and cenotes, but after seeing the town and the Casa (and taking due note of the heat) I thought I would just hang out in town... More

We have just returned home to the UK from our trip to Mexico. Casa Hamaca was just perfect for our needs. We were a family with two young kids and our parents and it suited all of us. The room for four was enormous, spotless and everything we needed, the breakfasts delicious and the social point of the day. Loved... More

We spent less than 24 hours in Valladolid but had a great experience. Denis is knowledgeable about Mayan history and Valladolid. He made us feel at home and was a great host, with dinner recommendations and tips on can't miss locations. The trip to the municipal market was terrific. And yes, the quality of the hammocks from the prison is... More

Stayed there for a week, only ventured out one day to Tulum. Valladolid is worth a week especially if you are getting oriented to the Yucatan. Denis is perfect as a host and the staff is beyond reproach. The rooms are very nice and the breakfast is fantastic. There is no problem that I could note. The only improvement I... More

We loved our time at Casa Hamaca, my only one regret is that I didn't take a photo of breakfast. Denis is a wonderful host and has a very natural knack of bringing everyone together. It might sound cheesy, but it's like the extended family goes off and does their own thing each day and returns at breakfast to catch-up... More
