David and Allana are great hosts. Allana who is from California supervises all the home cooked food. even the locals come to dine. Great soups, entrees, and the awesome coconut cream pie. There was a party of 8 of us. 6 Americans 2 Canadians fishing for 6 days. We were boating 30 bone fish a day, Tarpon and permit. We... more

good guides showed us terrific fishing even with3 windy days; our group caught lots of bones,a few tarpon, snook and a good permit. Saw a lot of permit with good casting opportunities. Terrific food, drinks and service. I'll be back! .... from Maine more

Although its marketed as a diving/fishing lodge, I had a great time at Cocos without doing either. As an avid snorkeler and underwater photographer, this was a great place to unwind and do nothing. The price is right and the food is great! Thanks to the greedy men at Hertz in Tulum attempting to charge me $691 for what should... more

We booked this place on recommendation from friends so that my husband could try his hand at bonefishing. I was worried that I and our 3-year-old son would be bored for the 5 days and 6 nights we had planned. We all had a great time. Our cabana was perfect - clean, comfortable, with a really great shower. Only downside... more

I have stayed at Costa de Cocos at least 25 times in the past 10 years. Why do I keep going back there? Because there is no place as beautiful and relaxing, fun and secure. In all my visits, I have NEVER encountered anyone who has experienced theft at this resort. The lovely rooms all have safes and keys, and... more

Picture three travelers wanting a relaxing, adventurous, cultural, and beautiful vacation -- all living in areas stuck in gloomy spring weather. Now, picture those same three travelers after a week+ at Costa de Cocos. Completely relaxed, adventured, cultured, and beautified (tan counts, right?). Yes, the drive is a bit long (5 hours) from Cancun. But, why not take a few... more

One of the most relaxing and rewarding vacations we have ever had. Smimming, snorkling, fishing, and hanging out.. Thankfully far from the maddening crowds of Cancun, great food, and the hosts and staff were gracious and committed to making this a wonderful vacation - we will definitely be back for more! more

Because we had seen a previous review of THEFT at Costa de Cocos, we thought would be more careful. So we placed all of our cash in the room's lock box and attached the lock securely. The key was ALWAYS with my husband. Well, the night prior to departure, we check the lock box and find $300 missing!!!! This was... more

We stayed @ Costa de Cocos a few weeks ago. Several items were blatantly stolen from our room - in broad daylight as we were out. Manager (Jim) was quick to chalk it up to 'our fault' for leaving them in the room, and he refused to entertain tthe idea that it was his staff. We asked him to question... more

we would like to say we are sorry that these people feel that we stole their camera. we find it hard to believe that people would think we would jeapordize 20 years of business for a $300.00 object. However, we provide lock boxes in our rooms, for guests to use, free of charge, or the use of our safes as...

This was the second time we stayed at Costa de Cocos and had an even better time! The owners David and Ilana are fantastic and made sure we were able to do lots of things, arranging for a boat to take us out snorkling three times. We also arranged to travel inland to the ruins. The sheets and towels were... more
