First impressions were good, check-in was quick and the room was a decent size and clean. The first issue came when visiting the spa, apparently as a hotel guest they won't give you a robe and you have to go back to your room to get the robe from there. The pool area is ok, but it felt a bit tired and in need of a refurb and deep clean. We had booked a table at the restaurant for the evening of our first night, but the restaurant area was closed and we were served in the bar area from the main restaurant menu. There was live music in the bar, which isn't ideal when eating but the food was very good. Breakfast service was the same on all 3 days - bad. Expect intermittent low availability of key breakfast items, and no available staff to ask. On the second day we had treatments booked in the spa, these were excellent. On the third day we went back to the spa, but now we were told that we didn't have access to the relaxation room. Despite having an email promising that we had full access to spa facilities as a hotel guest - this isn't true. We had also booked a table in the restaurant for the evening, which was again closed. However, this time when we were seated we were given a reduced bar menu with no explanation. If we had wanted a bar menu we would have booked a table in a nearby pub. So we booked somewhere in Beaconsfield and ate there. Simply put, if you want a relaxing 2-3 day spa hotel then is is not it. The hotel was ok, the spa was very good when you can use it and the pool facilities are functional.

If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, warm, welcoming, smiling, attention to detail staff then, Crowne Plaza, Gerrards Cross UK should be your next stop. What a difference it makes when a new team of staff make you feel at home. My very recent stay for 2 nights has left me totally recharged simply because of staff 'Twinkle' from 1269 Restaurant Bar and Grill, 'Victoria' from Reception, 'Gabrianna' from the Club Lounge and Bar and Grill and of course the General Manager- 'Edward' all of which went that extra mile (or two) to attend to my needs. My partner and I have been going to Crowne Plaza for the last 10 years and this has been the best service by far. In addition to the full functioning facilities- steam, sauna, jacuzzi, swimming pool, treatments and the most comfortable bed and clean rooms, you have no choice but to return home floating on cloud nine. We'll be back! 16th-18th June 2023 Room 311

Unfortunately this time round wasn’t as good as our first experience of the hotel, when we stayed here last year. On arrival it was busy to check in and the receptionist rushed our checkin didn’t give us any information on opening times of any of the facilities, which I thought wouldn’t be a problem as I assumed their would be literature in the room to give that information, there wasn’t. Which meant a trip back to the reception to join the queue again to get the information we wanted. Another big issue this time round is the club lounge is no longer available which is a real shame as it was the selling point of this hotel for us, especially as that’s the reason we used to book premium rooms for the access. So defeats the point of a premium room now as they are not much bigger than the standard ones anyway. The pool and spa is still quite good. The bar and restaurant feel under staffed it’s quicker to just go up and order direct from the bar, as table service is pretty slow. Overall it’s not a bad hotel but not as good as it used to be.

Room was very comfortable, not huge, but enough space. There was TV, Tea and coffee, water and an iron in cupboard. Pool facilities were really nice, they were clean and fairly quiet, and water was pleasantly warm. They were open a long time each day, and staff were very helpful. Food was very good, both breakfast and evening meal, and staff could not have been more helpful. Train station is 5 mins in car, then 19 mins direct service to London Marylebone. It was all very comfortable, slightly dated in decor, if that kind of thing bothers you then it may not be for you, but for a comfortable stay close to London we would recommend. Bathroom was nicely laid out, main shower was a bit feeble, but that may just be that room having limescale clogging.

They try to put you in rubbish rooms till you complain. On a Sunday night they put you in the bar to eat - no fine dining in the restaurant. The fish and chips is small and not as you would expect in a "restaurant". The pool is ok ish - no lockers worked and you have to take dressing gowns into the pool area.

Dear mikeaL8155EB Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are disappointed you had cause to complain. We have shared your feedback with the relevant team managers so they can where necessary take remedial action. We offer a number of options for dining of which the bar is one. There are changing rooms in the pool area. It is the case some guests prefer to change in their bedroom and go to the pool using the dressing gown provided in the bedrooms. Thank you again for taking the time to leave your feedback. regards Chris

Premium king room was v nice. Clean. Issues were in the 1269 restaurant. Had to send food back at dinner and breakfast. Spa very average and door broken on my shower. I wouldn’t recommend unless you get an absolute bargain. Checked in an hour early which was good.

I have been coming to this hotel for many years, seen many changes is personnel and experiences the up and downs of hotel daily life. Through all this the staff have always been helpful, pleasant, professional and polite however the same cannot be said for the inconsistent food quality and menu choice. It’s always been a source of irritation but never get strongly enough to mention it till now. A change in menu today has meant that the room service kids menu has more choice than the adults! I can appreciate that the hotel, being close to Legoland, is popular with families but would think that it’s important to ensure the parents and all adults on business or pleasure and looked after too. Not even a simple healthy salad is available! Pizza or sandwiches is the option. It’s really disappointing to see this of a hotel which states to be 4 star! Anyway as I say their lose is just eats gain with plenty of choice.

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Gerards Cross over Christmas. Our room was lovely, although the pressure in the shower was rather low (it’s controlled by a button and can’t be regulated), making it difficult to wash shampoo out of your hair. Our major complaint was the service, particularly in the bar but also in the breakfast room, and to a lesser extent at the reception. Regarding the bar, we had been offered vouchers for "two free drinks per person per night”. The voucher said “Treat yourself to a drink…Choose from a range of beverages, including premium wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages…Drink selection is at the discretion of the hotel.” In fact, not only did the barmaid refuse to honour the two drinks per person (I had to show her the confirmation email and threaten to go to the reception), but the choice of drinks was so far from the “premium” wine and ”choice of beverages” as to be laughable. Red or white house plonk, beer or soft drinks, and that’s your lot mate! We wanted rosé wine and coffee, but neither of these were included so we had to pay for them. We left the hotel after our drinks and returned a couple of hours later. The table hadn’t been cleared and the glasses were still there. We sat at another table and ordered coffee. A few minutes later, a waiter arrived with two small dishes of mayonnaise and ketchup. He dumped them on the table and disappeared before we had time to say anything. We then realised that they were intended for another table, which was getting rather annoyed because their chips had been served without mayo and ketchup! The breakfast room was not crowded, but it took a while before the buffet dishes were replenished, including such basic things as bread. The only coffee machine ran out of water one day and milk the next, leaving people milling around waiting. Table service ranged between hopeless and non-existent. When checking out, there was only one person on the reception, and although she did a heroic job, the queue reached out into the lounge area and I counted 19 people/couples waiting in line. Unacceptable for this type of hotel. Finally, the hotel itself is quite far out, so it’s definitely not for anyone who doesn’t have a car. Taxis to the nearest towns are quite expensive. Although we will be visiting this area quite often in the future, we won’t be going back to this hotel.

Dear Victoria Blazczyk I would like to to say that my mother's stay from 24, dept: 27 December was terrific. You found her a room close to the lift and raised the temperature as she suffers with the cold. You also found blankets for me at 0100 hrs in the morning when we checked in and called me when she had forgotten what time I was due to collect her. All the staff at this hotel go out of their way to make our stay splendid over the Christmas period. We much appreciate them being onsite when they are obviously spending only part of the holiday period with their own families. They still made our stay very special. I have stayed in many hotels all over the world but this one takes some beating and it right on my home patch. Best wishes Deborah Jones 27466001
