It is called the County Hotel - but basically the accomodation is a set of rooms above a very basic pub.
When we pulled into the car park, the place looked a bit derelict and deserted.
You check in at an allocated point within the bar area, and as soon as you walk along the corridor to the rooms the smell of disinfectent and cheap toilet cleaner hits you. The smell makes you think of visiting a sick relative in hospital!!!.
After several attempts of turning the key in the lock, we got into our room.
The room (A family room) was very spacious, a kingsize bed and two singles. The furnishing a little old fashioned and basic, but the room was spotless (apart from a smearing of mascara on the wall). The beds very very comfy and bedding again was spot less.
The sash window was jammed open, but when we called reception (off the mobile, as the in room phone was faulty), the staff were quick to respond to rectify. We also rang for an ironing board, and agian the response... more
