Friendly welcome. Shown to room 2. No en suite, bathroom is only for room 2 but at the other side of the shared landing :-( not impressed. Only one night so put up with it. Place is nice and clean, tiny TV, Tiny bath towel, both need to be bigger. Tea and coffee provided, little shy with the milk. Breakfast... More

I had to write following a stay at Hopley House as from the moment of booking through to time of departure I was made to feel really welcome and valued as a client. Nothing was too much trouble and Tricia and her parents do a fantastic job from start to finish. The rooms are tidy, clean and spacious. The breakfast... More

Our inability to read maps nearly resulted in a"no show". We were glad that eventually we found it.Middlewich traffic is terrible and even when we left cars were nose to tail in the town. Hopley House was an establishment I would return to.Large bedroom huge bathroom and a delicious breafast made it an enjoyable stopover on a long journey.Great beds... More

We did on overnight stay here on our way further north. Large room with lovely en-suite. Everything immaculately clean and tidy. Very hospitable hosts who even offered to drive us to a local restaurant so that we could both enjoy a drink! Breakfast was a real treat, cooked to order and very plentiful. We hope we will have another excuse... More

Stayed at Hopley house for 2 nights when attending a mtb race meeting nearby. The owners are incredibly hospitable and help in every way possible! I'm always nervous when travelling with my bike, but the owners were very kind and let me lock up my bike in one of their big ex-chicken sheds. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was... More

We stayed here as it was only 10 miles/20 minutes from Jodrell Bank, where we going to for a concert. The room and bathroom were spotless, the facilities as good as you can expect from a B&B (I mean that in a good way) and the staff very friendly. Breakfast is cooked to order, with a full English available or... More

exceptional B&B with seperate building from the owners house - the owner was very helpful when we were very late checking in due to work delays. Nice bedrooms but bathroom fittings esp shower might benefit from updating. We couldn't connect to the WiFi - possibly weak signal in our room. Really good breakfast, and served a bit later by request.... More

Lovely welcome, spotlessly clean bedroom and bathroom and a freshly cooked breakfast. What more could you ask from a B&B. First Class.

I stayed for one night, breaking my journey down the M6 (10 minutes or so away), and was astonished at the quality of the place considering the price I paid. My room was spotless, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower-room extremely well fitted out. But the absolute highlight had to be the breakfast. WOW! Compared to the tepid... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hopley House's simple slogan of ‘eat, shop, stay’ reflects their straightforward approach to serving up a taste of tradition in the heart of Cheshire. The 200 year old barn at Hopley House, set in the small hamlet of Wimboldsley, has been sympathetically transformed into a welcoming tea room, farm shop and seven bedroom B&B. Hopley House has rapidly gained a reputation for its service, quality produce and a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Guests staying in one of the lovingly restored bedrooms, pleasantly set out to reflect the Hopley House heritage with all the modern essentials you need for a welcoming stay, are treated to the legendary Hopley House cooked breakfast. Bacon, sausage, eggs, the list goes on, all local, even down to the toast, butter and homemade preserves. What better way to start the day? The intriguing farm shop stocks both local and more exotic foodstuffs ranging from artisan bread from Frodsham to ethically sourced meats such as Ostrich and Kangaroo. Handmade local cards, desirable gifts and local crafts can also be found. Hopley House prides itself on finding the best small producers the County has to offer. Cheese and butter from Nantwich, brown swiss ice cream from Oakhanger, milk from Buglawton, eggs from Congleton and tomatoes from Peover are just some of the produce you can expect to find. Visitors to the award winning tea room need not miss out. Proud of its Cheshire location and of supporting local producers, Hopley House uses as much local produce on the menu as possible. With tasty meals, sandwiches and snacks, Hopley House is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch, a mid morning snack or simply a fair trade coffee and a delicious slice of homemade cake, made of course with local butter, eggs, milk and homemade jam. Deliciously local, lovingly made. ... more   less
