We have just returned from a great weekend at Lily Bank Farm, and what a place! A great cottage, we had a lovely room with ensuite and a great view. Emmy & John were great hosts, Emmy's breakfasts were delicious and a great way to set up for a little mountain biking. After much encouragement, I joined the group for... More

We had an excellent weekend break here despite the fact it rained all weekend! The cottage is exactly the kind of place you want to come back to after a long day on the hills, the very friendly cats and dog as well as the fantastically moist carrot cake are literally the cherries on top! Emmy is so welcoming and... More

The title says it all really. We had a great short break here 2 nights for our 1st wedding anniversary and wished we'd taken more time off work and could've stayed longer. A big thanks to Emmy a great hostess and cook. unintrusive yet very friendly service. Warm welcome was also recieved from Lily the dog very friendly and happy... More

I found this b&b on tripadvisor and I cannot agree more with the previous reviews. The owners made us feel very comfortable and gave us great tips about where to go and what to do. We choose the bedroom with private bathroom and the view on the valley in the morning was absolutely amazing. Very clean bedroom and bathroom, excellent... More

This is a brilliant experience from beginning to end. Emmy and her family/pets make you feel right at home. Although you have your own lounge the cats and Lily the dog will still come to say hello. The house is the perfect combination of rustic charm with sympathetic and very comfortable updating (no chintz in sight thankfully!). Special mention to... More

We had such a wonderful weekend here! The weather was gorgeous and Emmy made us feel really welcome. The cottage is in the perfect setting, very picturesque and convinient to the local village with pubs and a station that is a 20 minute journey from Manchester. The breakfast was outstanding - delicious pancakes and poached eggs. Bed was super comfortable,... More

The first review describes it perfectly. We only came from Manchester for a night to do some walking but felt really relaxed in the very cozy lounge complete with wood burning stove. I agree with previous comments re John's curry and we scraped our plates clean, the other dishes looked lovely and the deserts were all fantastic. The rooms are... More

This delightful, 17th century guest house is beautifully situated in the Peak District, near Manchester. The owners, John and Emmy, are warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. As well as serving wonderful breakfasts, delicious suppers and packed lunches are available if you book in advance. John cooked us the best curry we have tasted in years! The... More
