My partner and I stayed for two nights in late November after seeing a good offer through late rooms. The weather was awful but only to be expected at the time of year and the purpose of the trip was to relax and kick back. The room and bathroom were small but charismatic (and clean). I have read comments about... more

This was a surprise trip for me and it was fabulous. Driving up to the hotel in the dark with it all lit up was really impressive. I am vegetarian and the food was like works of art and tasted fantastic. If there is a wedding on the cellar bar is open until 2.00am. It’s a very unusual round stone... more

This is not the easiest of places to find...even in broad daylight! However, that is all part of the fun and the Peckforton Castle experience. The sweeping drive up to the hotel is nothing short of majestic and as it was Autumn the trees were all turning colour. When you catch sight of The Castle, it takes your breath away,... more

So glad we didn't check Trip Advisor before going. This hotel is a mock-medieval castle built in the 19th century, but it's so unusual and impressive you feel like you are in the real thing. For those who didn't like the "dark bits" maybe any sort of castle-based hotel isn't for you! We paid £65 per night, b&b, and were... more

What a let down. This place markets itself on the fact that it is a castle on the top of a hill, but sorry guys, you need to deliver more than that. Broke the cardinal 'trip advisor' sin, by staying at the hotel and afterwards reading the reviews. Pretty much all the poor reviews mirrored my experience, just reminded me... more

We got married at Peckforton Castle on Sept 12th. Having paid upfront I was a little concerned, but I needn't have been. It was perfect. The venue was magnificent, and the organisation was impeccable - with particular thanks to Mark, the Duty Manager, who was absolutely fantastic and made everything run smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble, the rooms were... more

We booked Peckforton Castle for our 2nd wedding anniversary. The castle is certainly spectacular, built as a faux medieval castle complete with Bailey, battlements, peacocks, pheasants and its own falconery! Housed in the middle of its own woodland with access via a long winding drive through wooded grounds, the castle is certainly spectacular and built entirely from local Cheshire stone.... more

I had found the Castle on the internet whilst searching for a romantic break for our honeymoon... we were married on the 4 september 2009 and stayed at Peckforton Castle on the 7, 8 and 9th september...... more

This truly was an awesome experience. The staff/owners were helpful, courteous and friendly. You are free to roam around the permitted areas of the castle and grounds. Would recommend having drink in the wine cellar bar which has no electric lighting just candle light which adds to the atmosphere. The breakfast is amazing. An added bonus is the Falconry. With the... more
