We have stayed with Pat at Greycroft for more than 20 years, and each time was a great pleasure. Whichever room we have is comfortable with complimentary tea and coffee, also a variety of fresh fruit. The guest lounge is very comfortable, with a wide view of the hills through the large bay window. Breakfast menu's are varied and substantial.... More

Pat made us very welcome in her home. Our room was excellent and the breakfast was substantial and very tasty. It was lovely to have a guest's sitting room all to ourselves since we were meeting up with friends and were able to have tea and coffee in luxury. We would definitely stay again and wish Pat well in the... More

Our stay at Greycroft was really enjoyable. Our room was very comfortable, cosy and well stocked with toiletries, chocolates, fruit and a good choice of teas. Good to find a B & B with a sitting room. Breakfasts, very good and substantial. Pat was friendly and helpful. Very close to Alston town. Perfect and good value, we would definitely stay... More

We had a lovely stay at Greycroft on our C2C cycle. We arrived cold and wet but had a warm welcome from Pat, the owner, followed by a much needed cup of tea and homemade biscuit. Very comfortable and clean facilities. We were able to travel light after reading a previous review about the abundance of toiletries...and how true it... More

We had a great night at greycroft. Pat really pulls out all the stops. Lovely cup of tea and cake on arrival in the lounge. The only bb on the route with a bath and radox to soak my weary limbs. Very good choice of breakfast including porridge ( with cream and whiskey of u want it!). Good value and... More

We found lots of thoughtful attention to detail at Greycroft – the abundance of toiletries in the bathroom contrasted starkly with what we found at a more expensive hotel on the previous day. The room was clean and comfortable if a little fussy for our personal tastes. Owner Pat was friendly and helpful, offering us a welcome drink and shortbread... More

Greycroft is so much a home from home. The spacious lounge, dining room and bedroom all on the ground floor are clean, tidy and tastefully decorated. Owner Pat Dent lives on the premises and is happy to chat and advise on anything local as well as cooking a delicious and substantial breakfast. The beautifully kept garden beyond the dining room... Excellent accommodation located within easy walking distance of the town of Alston. Everything at Greycroft is of a very high standard, especially the food. Pat and Les are wonderful hosts. We would recommend anyone visiting this part Cumbria to use Greycroft as their base.

Just had a wonderful weekend at Greycroft. Pat and Les are charming, friendly hosts and the place itself is very comfortable, beautifully furnished, warm and spotlessly clean. Walked the short walk into Alston to Alston House for a splendid meal in the evening. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of fruit, cereal and then of course a delicious... More

As a couple my partner and I stayed here. We found the hostess, Pat, a little bit loud and schoolteacher-esque at first but she is actually very thoughtful. The breakfasts are wonderful, Les makes really tasty scrambled eggs and the porridge was very welcome on a rainy September morning. We found it a little far to walk over into the... More
