We just had a mini break, basing ourselves in this B & B in Cartmel. The area is very quiet, but not actually down in the village itself. There are only two bedrooms, the front being the larger of the two; advisable if you are staying more than a couple of nights and don't plan to be out all day. The owner is open and welcoming and the food that she provides is excellent; plus she was willing to cater for any specific dietary need.
The only downside is that there isn't a sitting room for guests - although use of the dining area is the alternative, the space is restricted and would be uncomfortable very quickly.
And it would have been nice to have had 'toiletries' in the bathroom rather than in a dish in the dining room, which seemed rather quirky.
Apart from that, I would recommend Calsfell as a value for money B & B. more
