Stayed her during coast to coast....having looked in at the Borrowdale this was a big disappointment in comparison. Corridors rather smelly dorms roomy was facilities ok but would be limited if had full occupancy. Good breakfast though. This YHA has prime location and has enormous potential...just needs someone or some organisation to invest some time and money on it.

A total value for money small little place. Cannot comment on the food as we chose to use the self catering kitchen. Located at a scenic location, this place is perfect for backpackers. I recently stayed for 2 nights and cannot fault the Hostel or it's Staff. Location is great and Staff were friendly, most efficient and helpful. Unbelievable value for money and refreshing to stay in such a lovely environment (place/staff and fellow guests included) -thank YOU!

Fewer and fewer YHA properties remain these days. After the YHA sold off Derwent Water YH, this is one of the best ones left. Great base for walking and cycling. Good value for money, excellent food, bike shed too.

Good facilities, clean, efficient and friendly. This is a typical YHA location especially suitable for walkers. This is a brilient location with loads of quality walks. The only downside is you need to book food well in advance. But fear not the White Lion pub around the corner is a great pub wityh super grub too...
