For the 11th. year running we visited The Patterdale Hotel and once again had a lovely time with fellow Ramblers walking the fells around the hotel where on return there was the usual warm welcome, plenty of food and drink plus entertainment in the evenings to help us forget the bad weather outside, will return again same time next year! more

Service was friendly, welcoming & professional. Third stay in three different rooms, all rooms spotless, comfortable, with lovely views Location excellent for exploring the Lake District. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet & the wide choice at dinner. Some areas are a little tired, but the overall experience more than compensates, & belies the two star status. We will return more

Have stayed at Patterdale Hotel twice and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is in an excellent location at the southern end of Ullswater, and also in an excellent location for some hill walking. We have been staying at the Patterdale for the last nine years, three or four times a year,this is shows the merit of the hotel, ideally located for scenic walks and as a base for sightseeing it also provides superb food,clean rooms and very friendly staff. A wonderful place to visit. more

We stayed mon-fri and still cant believe the value for money. The location is perfect for amazing walks. The staff also make this experience very special. We also stayed at the hotel in may for a freinds 60th and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. more

On arrival and throughout the three days, the staff were helpful and mostly attentive. The room was at the front and with a good view (no sign of Ullswater, though) but was only just adequate size for two.
