We visited the Inn half way between a 9 mile walk and what a treat. The view sat outside in -2 was stunning, yes we ate outside much to the surprise of the staff but it was beautiful and someone had taken the last table! The bar area is small, so arrive early to get a table inside if you... More

Just back from a short weekend break with my husband, which we spent walking in the hills. We booked at short notice and were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We had read on their website that The Three Shires Inn had been closed for refurbishment and this was the first weekend they had opened. There was no problem at... More

This was at least the sixth visit to this Inn set in beautiful Little langdale. So this must say something about the Inn and the area. Good walking for all types. The inn is very cosy and the owners very friendly and helpful. More

My wife and have just had a lovely short break in Little Langdale, staying three nights at the Three Shires Inn. What a lovely old inn set in wonderful surroundings. Our en suite room was on the small side but had fantastic views, had everthing you needed and was very clean. The food in the inn was good quality and... More

We stopped at the Three Shires Inn for lunch when we took my father in law out for a lakeland walk on his 91st Birthday. It was a warm September day so the Inn was empty inside as everyone was eating in the pleasant outdoor area. There were five in our party and we all ordered different food which was... More

What a lovely place to spend some time in. The food is always decent, a little expensive like many places in the Lakes, but good quality and decent portions. They certainly try to be imaginative with the menu and the service has always been fine when I've eaten here. I like the atmosphere and they always have a good range... More

We did not stay at the Inn, but enjoyed an early supper on our tour through the Langdales. The bar was busy with children and dogs and the snazzy restaurant (new, I gather) was filling up with residents. We were offered to eat in the middle dining room which wasn't very smart, but quiet. It slowly filled up with families... More
