Excellent all round, like the other reviews say. Our room and bathroom were beautiful. Our hosts were very relaxed and welcoming. It was exactly what we were hoping for and it's a pity we couldn't stay longer.

We returned to the Plantation Cottage on our way to Holker Hall Festival and were warmly welcomed. The room we stayed in had been fitted with a new bathroom suite since our last stay. Second time to plantation cottage and as expected, nothing has changed. Victor and Maxine are still being the perfect hosts, sharing their wonderful home with us. Perfect location for a visit to the lakes, just far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but just close enough to get there when you want it.

Believe all the good stuff on here, this place is excellent! Victor and Maxine are really pleasant, the room was spotless and lovely. We stayed for 2 nights and have already booked a retutrn visit

What a beautiful cottage with a fantastic history. Close to the centre of Arnside but not quite on the front. a great room at a reasonable price. Very pleasant hosts and an excellent breakfast

I can't hold the proprietors responsible for the miserable weather, but everything else was fine. The room, in particular, was presented to a very high standard. I had an excellent night's sleep (on my own in a double bed). It is easy to come on the bus from Kendal or Milnthorpe, and there is a wonderful walk along the edge... More
