We hadn't booked a room here as we thought it would be out of our budget. We were very tired after exploring the castle and grounds so enquired about a room. The rates were average price so we treated ourselves. The room was lovely overlooking the owlery. In the evening we wandered around the castle gardens taking in the evening sights and smells. We felt like we owned the place. It was incredibly quiet and going through the old church and graveyard at dusk was spooky to say the least. The room was very clean, the bathroom good, the bed the most comfortable I've slept in. I wanted to take the bed home with me.
Builders and workers arrived by about 7am in the morning so there was no sleeping in. Breakfast was good. A must stay place. more
