Stayed there for geology field trip, made to feel very welcome, plenty of space and all welcome there. Staff were amazing, cannot praise them enough. Food was good, hotel was clean, and though rooms were sometimes cold, it wasn't too bad. more

Where shall I start? The corridor to our room had no light bulb so we had to inch our way along to try and find the door and the key! Having got in the room was lit by a 40 watt bulb- possibly to hide the damp and mould and the curtains which kept falling off the rails. The room... more

A disappointing hotel in a lovely setting, it has potential to be a magnificent but fails in so many ways. The only thing clean was the bedding and towels. Rooms and hallways in serious need of redecoration. The website pictures don't match the rooms we saw. more

I stayed at the Bull as part of a walking trip from the Dales to the Lakes, as it was my first stop after a 10.5 mile walk the bathroom, bed and tea making facilities were all very welcome. The room was jaded, cobwebs on the ceiling, damp on the bathroom ceiling and the TV had no reception whatsoever. The... more

Yes the rooms are tired and the beds are extremely uncomfortable. Evening meals are acceptable but beware at breakfast if they have a large group in. But for £50 a night what can you expect. more

How long have you got!- On arriving for our two night stay (first mistake), we didn't receive the warmest of welcomes. Although we had pre-booked, the room was sub zero and the storage heater was turned off. We borrowed a small electric fire for the bedroom. There was no heating in the bathroom and although the bath and toilet were... more

What a disappointment. I looked at the reviews here and their website (which certainly shows the place in the best light) before booking. I originally booked for two nights but could not stand staying more than my first. I arrived, wet and tired, *just* on 9 p.m. after a long drive and was told "the kitchen has just closed -... more

The bull hotel is atypical country hotel, the accommodation is comfortable and spacious { ideal for walkers/break eng - scot}. Me and my wife stayed and thought it was a lovely building the staff tried to exceed expectations and the food was the best we had had on our trip, with regards to previous comments i think they must have... more

I felt that i had to write something on this website due to the reviews that are on here. I found that it was really refreshing to stay in a real "inn" We enjoyed having to banter in the bar with some locals and some people that were walking like us and had lots in common with us. We were... more

We stayed at the bull Hotel, whilst on the Dales way walk, and found that it was perfect for what we wanted. Yes is is a pub. Yes it probably does need some money spending on it. But, you get what you pay for. we found the food to be wonderful, home cooked food, and we were stuck when it... more
