AWFUL...TERRIBLE....DISGUSTING! Four poster room as advertised - more like a well worn double bed with a limp, sad drape attached. Uncomfortable bed…couldn't wait to leave. Went to eat there with family.I have eaten better food in supermarket cafes. I wasn't to impressed with having to fend of flies when I was eating either.The beer was flat and the service was poor. more

This hotel makes Fawlty Towers look like the 7 star Burj Al Arab in Dubai. Upon arrival we were greeted by a member of staff who ,although very friendly struggled with the english language. Stayed at the farmers arms over bank holiday weekend. It is a lovely place, well situated for all lake district attractions. Staff were friendly, room was clean and smart. No reception, hotel actually closed on our arrival which we were warned about. Arrived at 2.30pm. Bar closed, no drinks available until 6pm on reopening except for tea/coffee available in room.
