We have used Wallsend Guest House three times - I've stayed with both family and friends. I can only best describe it as a "home from home", it's one of those places you are just so welcome and comfortable the moment you drive through the gate. Nothing, absolutely nothing, is to much trouble and I think we have really tested... More

This pleasant detached house works well as a Guest House for different levels of need. At face value it is a well run establishment with caring and personable hosts. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and the breakfasts provide a good tasty choice. For the casual visitor to this quiet part of England it represents a good base for... More

It is hard to think of a better way to end the 130 kilometers of Hadrian's Wall Path than by staying at Wallsend Guest House. Upon arrival, we were presented with tea and scones. The rooms were clean and the showers hot. The very friendly staff had already arranged dinner for us at the (very busy) King's Arms. Highly recommended!

After six days tough walking, you could not possibly ask for a better place to stay overnight. The house is quite wonderful, with very comfortable rooms and super-friendly hosts (including the three dogs) who make you feel very much at home as soon as you arrive. Breakfast was then top notch and set us up for the long journey back... More

Lovely big airy en-suit bedrooms, cosy wood burner in the sitting room, excellent breakfast. Lynn makes one feel at home straight away. So much to do and see in the area. Good pub food 5 minutes walk up the road. A real welcome made to your dog with excellent goodie bag.

After walking Hadrian's Wall, it was with great relief that we arrived at Wallsend Guest House to enjoy the sort of luxury and attention to detail that you so rarely get these days. Lyn couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating and it made the long walk all worthwhile. Everything in the bedroom and bathroom looked brand new and all... More

Myself and my husband got married on New Year’s Eve in St Michael’s Church, Bowness on Solway and when we booked the wedding six months ago we found the perfect place for the bridal party and family to stay the night before the wedding. Wallsend Guest House is actually the old rectory of the church so we couldn’t have asked... More

Myself and family recently had the pleasure of staying with Lynn and Alan at their beautful home . My daughter was getting married in the local church and myself(mother of the bride) and the bridal party (9 of us) were treated to the most friendly welcoming experience from arrival to departure. From the warm welcome at the front door and... More

At the end of 8 months trudging through rain, wind and mud on the Hadrians Wall Path, we arrived with the fantastic Doris Hancock (96) to the most warm, friendly welcome ever imaginable from Lyn, her extended family and friends and dogs, topped with Cliff Richard's "Congratulations" playing through the open doorway! A yummy celebratory afternoon tea and total luxury... More

My girlfriend and I decided to walk Hadrian's Wall and as such we organized for B&B's along the route. We decided that we would drive up to Bowness, then take the train the next day to Newcastle and start our walk from there. Well We arrived late Sunday PM, and were greeted by a a very energetic and welcoming hostess... More
