We stayed in the Love Shack for 2 nights starting from the night of our wedding, and really enjoyed our stay here. You'll see from other photos and reviews, that inside it is 'just' a large, very well decorated double room, and a large bathroom. So although it is a standalone 'building', it isn't a self catering cottage. Price wise,... More

This is a small B&B with only 4 rooms but each is beautifully themed and decorated with lovely touches. We stayed for two nights in the nautically themed Beach Hut which was great and included our own sauna. Breakfasts were excellent and Vic offered to take us to a dinner party so we could drink. We were made to feel... More

Good choices because each accommodation is uniquely different and all to the highest quality. We booked the Love Shack, but when we arrived we changed our minds and moved to the Beach Hut. (I think the names should be the other way around!!) The Beach Hut is in fact more like a home than a hut. It is so relaxing... More

We stayed here for a few days in May 2012 the beach hut was amazing - complete with a sauna too. Julie and Vic were really accommodating - from drawing maps of the local area for us to go for a jog to lending us bikes for free to explore the Peak District. The room itself was just so beautiful... More

We were given a break in the Love Shack by our son . The shack is fantastic very secluded beside a lake, the bed is the most comfortable we have slept in and the decoration has to be seen to be belived. You go to the main house for breakfast which was outstanding we only needed a small snack all... More

Firstly let me start off by saying I'm not normally one to do reviews. In this instance though I couldn't help but give some positive feedback. This is the second time my girlfriend and I have stayed at Blackbrook Lodge and it is simply exquisite. The first time I visited I stayed in my all time favourite room, The Beach... More

We stayed in the Love Shack at Black Brook Lodge in September. We had some confusion over the room in our original booking a couple of weeks before arrival, however it was eventually resolved. Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to the Love Shack, which is a summer house a short walk from the main house. We were very... More

i can only sincerely apologise for the 'spider experience' and i really wish the guests had mentioned it to us during their 1 night stay in the love shack. we work really hard to try and ensure everyone is comfortable and are constantly asking if everything is ok. so, i have to say, this has come as a complete surprise... We stayed at Black Brook Lodge for our wedding anniversary in the beautifully positioned Love Shack - a secret escape only 7 miles from home! Set in a private position, overlooking its own lake and fields beyond, it was sheer luxury in the most cosiest and comfortable way. Nothing had been overlooked in the detail from the candles, gorgeous feather... More

We made a spur of the moment booking and stayed in the lovely 4 poster room in the main house. Vic & Julie made us feel very welcome and Vic then drove us to the local pub (Cross Keys, Turnditch) where we'd booked for dinner. Fantastic breakfast, beautiful, peaceful location and nothing was too much trouble for Vic or julie.

Wow! Beautiful location, best hosts ever, wonderful breakfast, unique, individual, stylish rooms - we stayed in the 'Love Shack', it is comfortable and cosy and the most charming cabin you can imagine. Stay here and spend the rest of your life trying to better it!
