Having family in Glossop who only have a small house I opt to stay in a B&B and Peakdale Lodge was recommended to me a few years ago. It is literally 2 or 3 minutes walk from the station and 3 minutes from the banks and shops etc. The best butcher's shop in the country (Mettricks) is along the main... More

My husband and I were on our last night of a 14 night tour of Scotland and 13 nights had been booked prior to leaving home and we had found them all excellent. We had left the last night's booking as we were unsure of our final movements. We visited the library in Penrith to use their internet and booked... More

Really wonderful B&B set in the middle of Glossop POSITIVES: Within 2 minutes walk of main shopping area and also a great family park All areas clean and welcoming, although could do with a little bit of updating with the decor. We had the family room which was in an excellent position off the main landing where the sitting area... More

What a little gem. Great use of some of the old Mill houses from the turn of the century. Join them together into one big one. And it works! Ten minute drive from Stalybridge, where the rellies live. Not used to such narrow roads, after being in Australia for 40+ years, but we managed. Glossop is THE most charming town.... More

I was lucky in that I given a big room, that it was very hard to leave the room. It was really comfortable, clean and warm. Breakfast was excellent and owner was really friendly and full of information on where to go for walks and food. The location is great only a few minutes from the station. Do spend some... More

Excellent value B&B.Rooms were large and clean. Owners were very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was first class and put many quality hotels in the shade.A large number of returning guests speaks for its self.

I would have given this top marks, but the website said that all single rooms have three quarter sized beds-this wasn't the case! However, I did enjoy my short stay here. The owner's son was very cheerful and friendly. The guests have their own entrance, with chairs and a drying area, which is good for wet weather. The room I... More

Friendly, conveniently situated and excellent value for money. Glossop is connected by rail to Manchester and has good bus connections into the Peak District. Peakdale Lodge is only a few minutes walk from the station, comfortable en-suite rooms, use of lounge and garden, and a superb breakfast! I would certainly return.
