Luxurious rooms and linens with the most comfortable king sized beds, incredibly warm and welcoming hosts, stunning rural views in all aspects, superb breakfast and banter... if only EVERY place offered a complimentary half bottle of sherry in their rooms!

Di and John are perfect hosts - excellence in all areas, caring, friendly, everything you could want. The rooms are luxurious and spacious, the food delicious, the welcome warm. This was my second visit - I treat myself to a night before and after breaks at Champneys Springs - and it is the perfect start and finish when my drive... More

Stayed in the Staunton room for 3 nights before cutting my visit short because of snow. It was a treat to stay here, everything I would like at home was provided. The house is a lovely old listed Georgian farmhouse built around a courtyard (with plenty of parking). The room was spacious and well appointed with an en suite shower... More

Came up on a business trip, for a conference about hotels and thought this place was wonderful, much better than most of the places at the show. Would recommend to anyone. One of the nicest places I have ever stayed and I'm a travel veteran. The hosts were superb and their hard work is totally appreciated.

Di and John are two of the nicest people and most hardworking people that you could ever hope to meet. They welcome you into their wonderful farm, the place is fabulous, there were home-grown damsons and gooseberries at breakfast. What more could anyone possibly want? And as for the previous review mentioning the slightly-too-thick duvet, can I politely suggest that... More

This is one of the best B&Bs we have stayed at in the UK. We were there for only one night, but were made very welcome by the hosts. The location is very rural and very quiet. Breakfast is very flexible - just ask for what you want! Just one small criticism (and a very personal one) - we found... More

We booked into this fabulous establishment to attend a wedding nearby. Upon arrival we were extremely warmly greeted by Di and John, shown around the beautiful house and given only one instruction, relax and enjoy your stay. The rooms are fantastically clean and beautifully furnished. The bed knocks spots off of Lenny Henry's claim to have the most comfortable sleep... More

My hubby stayed here for a business trip back in July and was so pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a place! Excellent accomodation and a breakfast to die for! Tried to book again recently but booked up...... not surprised!

Stayed at Measham House in Swadlincote for 3 nights in July 2012 during a 4 week trip to UK from Australia. This B&B was recommended to us and was the best we stayed in throughout our visit. Our extremely comfortable and beautifully furnished ensuite bedroom overlooked vivid green rural coutryside - free laptop use and glass of port in our... More

Just returned from 2 nights at this fantastic B and B. Would echo the other reviews as Di and John were very friendly and welcoming. Lovely bedroom with very comfortable bed and views across open countryside. Quiet location and all the facilities you would expect and wish for. Wonderful breakfast with home grown fruits available and a lovely cooked breakfast... More
