We had a first class weekend - they couldn't do enough for us. Food was great, it was clean friendly and welcoming. We read these reviews before we went and went there with some nervousness - believe me, the reviews are completely wrong! more

OK, so we should have heeded the intial warning signs - shabby exterior, empty restaurant at peak time (Saturday lunchtime) but we were hungry. The first dish I tried to order was "sold out" (in an empty restaurant) and the excuse offered by the waitress when she returned was that she didn't know they hadn't make any more YESTEDAY??!! -... more

We are sorry you did not enjoy your time in our restaurant. On the Saturday in question whilst you were eating in the restaurant their was a number of other tables dining at the same time defiantly not empty as you portray. In fact the couple sat directly opposite you enjoyed lunch with us so much that they booked to...

the dog and partridge.....well what can i say. wen we arrived i was happy to see all the beautiful surroundings. the advertisement boasted animal friendly dwellings, and i applaud there honesty as i felt i was in a kennel! animal feces littered the out door breakfast area. i did not even bother bringing it to the managements attention due to... more

Found this B and B on the internet, and close enough to Alton Towers. Arrived about 6pm, very helpful and pleasent staff, was shown to our chalet and yes they do look a bit dated, but it was clean and tidy and warm. The bar was nice, the sevice was very good and friendly and a nice real fire. We... more

Ohh my God, it is absolutely awful, I am no going to bore you by writing a long report, read the others they are accurate. You will stay in a chalet away from the main building, it will have had dogs in it, it won't have been cleaned, dinner is £50 for 2 if you have a warm beer with... more

This is my fourth visit to the Dog and Partridge and it just gets better. My husband and I recently stayed for a 3 day break with our two greyhounds, lots of Hotels say they are "dog friendly" but here your dog is made as welcome as you are. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are warm, clean... more

my sister and I visited the Dog and Partridge for the second time. We had become used to the unusual "chalet" arrangements. We did not expect luxury however the rooms were warm and comfortable. Plenty of hot water and super fluffy towels. The food is superb and the staff very pleasant and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. We were... more

There was no problem with the staff but the rooms are in very poor condition cracks in tiles in bathroom could not see out of the windows condensation in glass units. Would... more

Judging by some of the previous reviews, people either love this place or hate it. I was somewhere in between. We stayed for 2 nights to take a trip to Alten Towers (which was fantastic by the way!). The family room was a good size, if a little bit shabby. Food was OK. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We... more
