Went to Thirsk Races and stayed at The Old Red House. It is opposite the racecourse and in an ideal position. The food was excellent and good value for money. We were up in Thirsk for a wedding in November 2011 and we stayed at the Old Red House for two nights unfortunately. Although the bedding was clean the room itself was old, stained and dirty. Stayed for two nights in spacious room. Bedding clean and beds comfortable however the room and bathroom are dated with small portable TV. Lovely breakfast served in the pub which is lovely and bright and modern sports pub with 3D TV, about a mile walk from the main square which was lovely.
