...which is a pub with rooms. The rooms are old, the furniture is stained, and the carpets are worn. On the other hand, the bedclothes & towels were clean, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was OK, and the owners & staff are friendly & helpful. Location is good for Thirsk racecourse. We had 5 rooms, ours was en-suite and as far as I know all the others were too. They were all booked as double/twin, one person couldn't make it at the last minute and they only charged us single rate for it. more
