We stayed at Meadowcroft for two nights, taking in a weekend race meeting. We were delighted with the accommodation which was very clean and spacious, with super king size beds! Sue and Simon were excellent hosts, nothing being too much trouble for them, and Sue even ensured we had bookings with two local restaurants for evening meals. We will certainly visit... More

We stumbled across Meadowcroft on a 5 week trip around the UK. It was one of the best places that we have stayed. A very convenient location from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales and Moors. Walkable distance from Thirsk town centre. Warm, comfortable, clean and beautiful rooms. Sue and Simon were friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed our... More

We were going to Thirsk races and wanted a B&B within walking distance. Sue and Simon were excellent hosts and made us very welcome. The accomodation was very clean and comfortable and the room a good size with an excellent ensuite. The bed was very comfortable also. It doesn't surprise me that Meadowcroft is rated No.1 in Thirsk. It is a very pleasant and comfortable place to stay with welcoming and helpful hosts. The cooked breakfast is extremely tasty and the Skeldale bedroom is excelllent, with a most comfortable bed that guarantees a good night's sleep. This is a very good base for exploring a most interesting... More

Thanks for your great review of Meadowcroft - we're so glad you enjoyed staying in our 'Skeldale' room, 'Skeldale' is our newest room and named after the Alf Wights' (AKA James Herriot) Vetinary Practice, although its a double and smaller than the Superkings - we have tried to ensure that the room is comfortable with quality fittings. I do agree... More

We stayed at Meadowcroft at a very cold time of the year and even braved a drive up on to the moors on our way back. Thanks so much for taking the time to write us a review and for your kind words.
