We stayed here for 3 nights and this place has so much potential, yes it is in the rainforest so you get the humidity and bugs, but that is part of the fun ! The accomodation was good, but the restaurant was only ok, the setting is fantastic, with a combination of both rainforest and beach. But what really took... more

We stayed here with friends overnight on the way to Cooktown. The location in the rainforest is pretty special. We can only think, from some of the other reviews, that some of the rooms are a lot nicer than others. Ours thankfully was great, spacious clean and comfortable, with tasteful modern designs - no curtains in the bathroom, but the... more

Based on the reviews I read, I was very nervous about staying here after we booked it. But when I walked in the room and the air conditioner was huming away and there was no phone, I was totally at peace. Our room overlooked one of the pools, which was nice. Further, my husband had emailed the hotel in advance... more

We just wanted to visit Cape Tribulation for a day, but we were so amazed by the area we stayed 2 nights there. As we did not have a booking we could simply choose between the 2 room types, that we first had a look at. The Daintree rooms have nice bathrooms with a floor to ceiling window and a... more

Where do I start?? This resort is seriously rundown & in need of serious refurbishment. Being old does not matter if it is clean which this is seriously lacking....cobwebs are everywhere. The worst thing was the service or rather lack of. Staff just do not care. While ordering coffee at the bar as our rooms were not ready, Jessie at... more

I love this place, so I've rated it as excellent despite agreeing with everyone else's complaints about the minimal service, outdated everything and general decay. I think this was my 4th visit, and the first under its new management. Nothing had changed, except for the progression of wear-and-tear, the loss of the phones in the rooms (a bit tricky with... more

We stayed here for 7 nights in late July/ early August. Among the delights we encountered were: a surly and unhelpful receptionist, mice in our room; damp bedclothes; boring breakfasts, a grubby dining room and inadequately trained staff. All in all, we thought it a badly managed establishment and very poor value for money more

We travelled for 4 weeks around Australia, and this was the only truly unique experience. No mobile service or TV’s meant that you appreciate the serene rainforest surroundings. Rooms were clean and comfortable and teh place had the relaxed feel you would expect in such a remote location. I will go back, but stay longer! more

After reading some complimentary reviews and seeing the lovely pictures we decided to book a 2 night stay. However, I totally agree with the last two comments, the room was dirty and very run down. The shutters and veranda doors didn't close and many more complaints... I understand being in the rain forest to expect lots of bugs etc, however... more

My husband and I had originally booked for 7 nights in a rainforest retreat room and left after 4 nights in disgust. This is a unique part of the world and we felt that management are only in it to make money. Forget about service and promoting Cape Trbulation and Australia! As an aussie I am embarrassed to say that... more
