We stayed here 2 nights in August on our honeymoon. Cape Tribulation was my favourite spot on our month long visit to Australia. We stayed one night in the boardwalk cabin and one night in the main house. Both rooms are fine, but I enjoyed the boardwalk cabin more because it was "open" to the forest. You get the feeling... more

This place is definitely not for everyone. Rustic is the best way to describe this place. The rainforest hideaway is about 1/4 to 1/2 a mile off the main road. I guess that's consider "deep in the rainforest" but it is actually within walking distance to civilization so it's not like you're Survivor Man or something. It's nice that it... more

This place is amazing, it makes you re-evaluate your whole existence A true rainforest experience, beautiful surroundings in the open air. A bit scary at times but sooo worth it! A gem for all ages. We had a ball.... Hi Rob if you're reading this. Orla, Kathleen and Eileen , Ireland more

this is a review for cape trib and not the rainforest hideway, though i do think i visited their cafe. Cape Trib is magical, but beware, if you are there by yourself, or with crummy company it will be hell. no cell phone reception and no power lines, generators only my friends. I stayed with a local which made cape... more

We wanted to spend a couple of days in the rainforest and away from the more corporate hotels that we'd stayed in on other parts of our trip. I'm so glad we came across this hotel. It was the most wonderfully laid back place we've ever stayed in. It sits in the rainforest and lets it come to you, it... more

It is nestled in the rainforest and has a rustic charm wwith the use of beautiful timbers. We recently stayed for 3 nights with our 2 teenage children. Unfortunately the rooms did not have any hanging or storage space and the loft area where the teenagers slept did not have a door for privacy. The loft leads off the main... more

This was a review written by someone who had clearly not done her research, on the website it states that the room she stayed in is next to public areas and not as private as others, and that the loft is an open design. Jungle rockpools are what they are, jungle pools, and not filtered and chlorinated like swimming pools,...

The rainforest hideaway is just that! Nestled a few hundred metres up a track off the main highway in Cape trib, it blends in effortlessly with its surrounds. This it does so well because it is mostly constructed from its surround, crafted over the years by its owner Rob. We stayed in the cabin room 1092 with its open air... more

Was my favorite place to stay during my entire trip! For the following reasons: 1. A real rain-forest retreat :: off the beaten track, quiet, solitary, private, peaceful and immersed in rain-forest cover, yet close walking or driving to everything (including the Whet Restaurant which is the best restaurant in Cape Tribulation). A perfect balance. 2. Eco-friendly :: a completely... more

We spent a few days at this property in August 2007, and simply loved it. Set in dense rainforest, it is possible while staying at this property to imagine that you are the only people around. It's hardly quiet though - the forest hums with birds (up in the canopy so you often can't see them, just hear tantalising cries)... more

If you want to get away from the crowds and enjoy nature this is the spot. All you hear at night are the creatures in the rainforest. The facility is spotless and one of the most unique places I have ever stayed. The hosts are very helpful and personable. They made calls for us changing some of our reservations elsewhere... more
