We spent two days and Rose Gums and it was an amazing experience. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The tree houses are exceptional and the views are truly outstanding. If you hike the trails, which you should, be sure to use insect repellent on your legs before leaving. The restaurant is only open for dinner but the food... More

This place was just lovely, so quiet and peaceful. Our tree house was the Kingfisher and we were very happy with it. Views were great and the fact we were so secluded from everything was the big plus for us who lead very busy lives, to top it off we had NO PHONE RECEPTION! The spa, fire place even the... More

I was lucky enough to be spoilt with a birthday stay at Rose Gums recently. The location is great and the peace surrounding our room, really was wonderful. As the forest is left to grow naturally, the "views" were not what we expected. Having said that, the view itself of the forest and the comings and goings of nature was... More

We read some reviews after booking and had concerns. The clue to who should stay here is in its name,a Wilderness retreat, it is set in the middle of a rainforest so we were treated to some of its bugs and local wildlife they just invite themselves.Saw comments re trees blocking views, the forest is left to grow at is... Our UK Travel Agent had pitched this place to us as "First Class" but we were a little disappointed with it and would not agree with that rating. The cabins are large and comfortable enough if a little tired. I agree with some of the other reviewers feeling that it wasn't quite clean enough. I found the location less inspiring... More

My wife, 15 year old son, and I spent three nights at Rose Gums Wilderness Retreat in June, 2012. I recommend it, with some qualifications. The strength of the property is its location. As the website accurately depicts, the units are scattered around the edge of the property closest to the entrance. Our unit was on the edge of the... More

Because it was cold we light the fire place and that for Australië but is was also raining, it is ofcource rainforest. The house is with a lot of wood and a nice balcony. You have to walk to the restaurant. The chef was on holiday so a friend was the chef. We have had better meals but the service... More

Booked in for our anniversary. On the website one of the selling points they use is a fruit basket. We got to our room, no fruit basket so I called reception and they sent down 2 old apples and 2 very old oranges. It was just whacked together. Footwear was croc shoes? What is that? The outside is not very... More
