I decided I was going to do a yoga retreat, and found one via my Australian Yoga Journal, went online and decided I liked the look of one at Sanctuary. It was quite an adventure as it meant I had to get to Australia, then to Cairns, then to Mission Beach. And I did it, 2 flights and a bus... More

My partner and I stayed in one of the tree huts during a weekend getaway and it was an awesome experience. The rainforest really does come alive at night and the sounds are soothing. Be forewarned, it is a bit of a hike in and out of Sanctuary (about 10 minutes on a dirt path) but for us that was... More

I stayed here for one week as part of a yoga retreat and absolutely loved it. I slept in a rainforest hut and although reluctant at first to experience sleeping with only mesh between myself and the forest - after my first night I never looked back and still miss my little hut! The huts are simple and basic and... More

After backpacking and staying in usual backpacker hostels this was a true retreat for me. I stayed in a double hut in the rainforest and it was not scary at all. It rained one night and I could hear toads all through the forest, it was heavenly. The walls are made of a mesh material yet you get a bed... More

The yoga room is a stunning space. It provides an ideal environment to practise. I stayed in a cabin, which are quite basic, but very adequate. The staff are really delightful, and always so nice. They knew everyones names, which was remarkable. The food in the restaurant was outstanding, except for 1 night. Good freshness, and variety. There are issues... More

We found this hotel through the guide book; it was recommended. After staying at this retreat, I cannot agree more. Settled in the midst of the rainforest, it is trully a sanctuary. We stayed in the hut. It was comfortable. The whole night, we could hear the sounds of the rainforest, yet it was not scary. I saw a bandicoot... More

We stayed in two different rooms, the first was 2 nights in the Hut then the third night we "upgraded" to a Cabin. Both were great! The Huts were a unique experience. The walls are just tent material, but they have comfy beds, power outlets, and bedside lamps. Although they were tightly packed, the trees gave you more than enough... More

Had a great stay when traveling alone through Mission Beach. Was on holiday from work and wanted some peace and quiet and here I got it! Gorgeous views, spacious clean kitchen, comfortable cabins, friendly staff. Even had the beach at Bingil Bay entirely to myself for 2 days. Food in the restaurant was nice too!

Our time here was amazing.....just one of the most beautiful places we have ever been to. We stayed in the deluxe rooms with the fantastic shower view across the forest to the sea and loved every minute of it...Sure the walk up from the beach took your breath away, literally, but so did the views from the top when you...
