The Web site is great and the place looks fantastic. But when you get there, reality sets in -- the "lake" is a small pond without fish, and the big price includes only a tray of cheap snacks, a couple bottles of water, two small cartons of milk, and instructions on how to make the coffee and heat up the... more

Our romantic country weekend away turned into an outdated 1980s room with no comfortable seating and a bed so hard that I slept on pillows for cushion. This is NOT a place you wish to stay. We were due to stay for the weekend and checked out after a night. The Inn is clean and that's it---the breakfast 'basket' is... more

I was born and raised in Chardon and lived there for 62 years. My sister still lives there. We live in Florida and Bass Lake Inn is the answer when we go to visit. We have the privacy and space to spread out. We can visit all our family and friends and yet not impose on them. It makes a... more

We enjoyed our stay. Especially the spacious room, convenience and ease of walking next door to the restaurant for excellent dinners -dining on the lovely patio, friendly, helpful staff. One thing that could be upgraded however is the continental breakfast which consisted of plastic bowl cereal, and plastic wrapped grocery store type pastries left in the room for the next... more

This Inn has such potential. But for the price it needs to be updated, and to add services offered by their competitors. The rooms are dark (lighting really poor), smell of mold or mustiness is strong. The tubs are a hazzard...anyone over 50 could easily break something trying to get in...really high...not user friendly. The hairdryers are from 1960's. Carpet... more

The staff was very nice and courteous, our server for dinner came back to our table to inform us of a very nice wine that was 50% off, I really appreciate honesty! more

This was our 2nd visit and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The dining staff is very accommodating and pleasant. The room offered a fireplace and other amenities which made our stay even more enjoyable. The only thing I would have preferred over the queen and standard tv was a king size bed and flat screen tv including music channels which adds... more

Celebrated a 50th Anniversary (my parents) with all of my siblings and our children. Had fabulous appetizers, wine and dinner in the restaurant, the food and service were outstanding. My family had 7 rooms that we all stayed in. Every room was very clean and equipped with a fireplace, which we gladly used (clean gas burning only) and included a... more

We had cocktails at the quaint bar with a roaring stone fireplace nearby. Dinner at the Tavern was good; I enjoyed a nice medium-rare strip steak topped with a skewer of grilled shrimp and a side of garlic mashed potatoes. A few more cocktails at the bar and a comfortable evening in a large, clean room at the Inn complete... more

I don't even know where to begin. The rooms are huge (we stayed in 2 & 3) and each has French doors leading onto a personal deck overlooking Bass Lake. The fireplace, candles, stocked fridge and breakfast basket are lovely touches. The food at the Taverne was delicious and our waiter, Eric, was outstanding. If we needed anything, all we... more
