Hotel's Favourite
Stayed here for one night. I had a room on the 7th floor with a nice view of the river.
Good: clean except for a few crumbs in the chair crevices. Refrigerator. Comfortable bed. Plenty of towels. Coffee maker. Toiletries that weren't overpowering smell wise. Front desk staff.
Not so great:
Mediocre breakfast - not many choices, soupy undercooked oatmeal, watery eggs. The breakfast was crowded on the morning I was there with several teens present - presumably in town for an event. The attendant loudly asked everyone to clean up after themselves (leaving plates etc..on the counter) then audibly mumbled (paraphrasing here) that these are adults and shouldn't have to be told. The attendant was clearly frustrated, but that's not professional behavior.

This is a good-sized Hampton Inn located fairly close to OSU, the Ohio State Fairgrounds, etc. The back of the hotel faces the Olantangy River, so half the rooms have a somewhat scenic view. There's also plenty of parking the back, so we used the back door exclusively, which was quicker and more convenient than walking through the lobby. The breakfast space was fine and the free breakfast had a number of good options.

The hotel was immaculate and post-pandemic had a large number of people staying there. The rooms were updated and the lobby area was spacious. After staying at two Hampton Inns earlier during our trip, the breakfast offered was a significant upgrade. The breakfast hosts were gracious, aimed to please and offered a large selection of food. Will say at this hotel again when visiting OSU.

I had a speaking engagement at The Ohio State University and stayed at the Hampton Inn. The hotel exceeded expectations in every way. Prior to the conference, I had the pleasure of attending a football game in "the Shoe", the renowned stadium of the Buckeyes. The hotel provides free shuttle service on game days to the stadium - an outstanding benefit! Our shuttle driver was prompt, courteous, and funny as she led the shuttle bus riders in song. The rooms were very nice and the free breakfast was good, but there is also a Bob Evans in the parking lot if you want other choices.

I visited Columbus for my son swim college swim meet. The staff was courteous and attentive to any needs we might need. The room, and bathroom were extremely clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and the people from the breakfast area were so helpful and educated, walking the extra mile to meet costumers needs. Thank you.

Stayed here during some medical work done at OSU hospital. The hotel was nice and room was spacious. Rodney at front desk was very friendly and helpful.
My only complaint is that during the Covid 19 they have reduced many amenities and things such as a hot breakfast with a small brown bag breakfast. No cleaning of the room the days we stayed and no coffee in the lobby. Unfortunately the price of the room was the same as when I've stayed before. Just saying?

+1
Beware. As a Hilton Honors Member for over 5 years and staying at the chain often where I travel for work, I never dealt with a nightmare experience as I did here. After working a double and arriving at 2 am, the check-in staff was rude. I was given a room in the middle of a construction zone that had working electric in only half the room. No electric in the bathroom, meant no light to shower before bed. Which was befitting since the sheets were soiled. In the morning management offered a standard refund with nothing for my trouble, not even an apology or excuse. Hilton Honors Membership Services said they'd contact me within 3 days, almost two weeks ago. I've come to expect better from Hilton over the years as a loyal member but apparently I need to reevaluate those expectations.

Katie, a sweetheart, took great care of us at the front desk.
I am a Hilton Honors member and she upgraded us to a king suite on the top floor since I was concerned about noise.
Breakfast setup was good. They had scrambled eggs, waffles and cereals.
There was plenty of parking. Close enough to downtown.
There was a baseball tournament going on in the area and the place was crawling with young boisterous boys, luckily there was only 1 incident in our hallway/staircase. Thank goodness.
I would definitely stay here again. Thanks again Katie!

Hampton Inns have always been among my favorite places to stay. The Columbus property did not disappoint. The hotel is conveniently located to OSU and many Columbus attractions; rooms are spacious, well-designed, and up-to-date; beds are firm and comfortable – perfect for a good night’s rest; and service is friendly, efficient, and readily available. Plus, the complimentary breakfast is well above average, thanks in large part to Mike, their amazingly gracious and attentive server.

Check in/out was efficient and the Front Desk staff were pleasant and friendly. My room was ok - functional but a little drab. There were hairs on the bathroom floor. I also wondered why they keep the coffee maker on the bathroom counter when there is plenty of space to put it in the bedroom. We don't make coffee in the bathroom at home so it seems like an odd choice by whoever in management made that rule.
The breakfast area is quite large, there was plenty of choice of both hot and cold food and they kept it will stocked.
There is plenty of free parking in front of the hotel and there's a Bob Evans restaurant just across the parking lot.
All in all it was ok. Not good but nothing really wrong with it either. It served its purpose location-wise for the short business trip.
