Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stay at German Village Inn twice a year in the fall. We were just there, and as always we were treated with courtesy and kindness. Our room was clean and functional. The value proposition is good. We love the German Village area for the atmosphere and fun places that are in walking distance. Planks is a favorite restaurant/bar. The Thurman Coffee Shop is a great little breakfast place. We make the trip to Columbus for Buckeye Football. We Uber to The Shoe, and it all works well for us!

These rooms are overpriced they should never been over $60, all the other complaints that I have seen from everybody none of it has been taken care of, slum motel if you ask me. Trash. Very disappointed that these hotels and motels get away with this, board of health and everything else should be called on this place.

There was black mold on the bathroom ceiling, which made me sick and ruined my stay. I did not expect the Ritz but did expect to not have my accommodations be a health hazard. When I went to complain nobody was there and ringing the bell did nothing. Do not stay here. The value is not worth it.

DO NOT stay at this hotel! The place is filthy. We booked online and when we got in the room it was nasty/filthy. We turned the key in and left. Have spent the last 3 weeks trying to get our money back!

This place was close to where I need to meet my driver in the morning, so I chose it through a discount app. The check-in was easy enough through the night window and my room was upstairs without an elevator. The bed was comfortable and everything worked well.. I guess the cost for Columbus was low , I guess and they had a continental breakfast.

It was awful. The AC made a terrible racket. I didn’t get one good night’s sleep. The dumpsters were right under my room and there was no lid. The stench wafted through my room all night. The breakfast was pitiful and there was a swarm of flies circling the juice machine.

Our group of golfers visits Columbus annually in the fall for an extended weekend of golf and OSU football. We have stayed at the German Village Inn for more than 10 years. The motel and surrounding German Village area have both been upgraded significantly in the last decade. Motel has large, clean rooms and is very affordable. Restaurants and bars in the area make it an attractive and convenient place to stay. It suits us perfectly and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a solid alternative to high priced hotels located in Columbus.
