I stayed for one night in Guwahati on my way back from Bhutan to Delhi. The staff is really generous. They arranged for a late check-in at 1AM although they normally close at 11PM. Rooms were clean and sorted when we reached. They also allowed a late check-out.

During an official trip to Guwahati in December, we chose to stay at Aaditya Riverview Guest House and found it very good in terms of hospitality, service, food and cleanliness. The guest house is located at a very convenient and posh location easily approachable from all the corners of the city.

Though I did not get a chance to visit the guest house, I had a pleasant experience dealing with them, and their assistance was great. I had to cancel my booking and they refunded the money without any deductions asap. From that I gather they will be more than helpful in any dealings with them. They reply prompt and keep... More

Spent there just one night after coming down from Bhutan before flying out to Calcutta. But what a night! When we entered the run down and dirty room "with riverview" it was a bit warm inside- 37 to 40 degrees C or so. So we turned on the AC- and now we could choose cholera or black death. I´ve never... My boyfriend and I stayed at Aditya Riverview Guesthouse in April 2012 for 4-5 days. The staff was very cooperative and cooked us great breakfasts and lunches. We also got some discount for having stayed longer -- so that was nice. The rooms were alright -- quite clean and tidy, but we found it overpriced. The strangest thing however was... More

Thanks to Manoj for an enjoyable stay before moving on to Bhutan - our couple of days in Guwahati were very enjoyable, and the Guest House was very comfortable, the service was good, and we were very pleased to be invited to Ayush's first birtrhday party!

Generally the Aaditya Riverview Guest House is reasonable for Guwahati. The manager is an excellent fellow, very helpful in all respects. He does the best job he can in the otherwise terrible conditions present in what is perhaps the worst city in India, Guwahati is generally filthy and dysfunctional in all respects, and cannot be characterized as a pleasant destination.... First af all the rooms are in a very old and decadent house. All the apartment as well as the rooms are dirty. The breakfast is cooket in a "black" kithchen. We give our passports for copy and we recived them after 2 days completly damaged. We ask to the owner to organise a taxi transport to the train station... More

Yes our building is old but surely not rickety n decadent--we breathe pollution-free oxygen every day directly from the park & river outside, so all residents' inside are healthy !!! The kitchen's hygiene is maintained just like a neat home's & everyday our staff handles(takes from guests' and hands back) various ID's docs like Passports,Drivers licences, etc and we ensure that... First of all, don't confuse this property with a hotel - this is just a 3 storey residential house doing business (not sure whether legally!) We stayed there during October 2011,and the owner of the property mentioned that he prefers not to give me a bill since I will not get a reimburesement from my office for this trip !!!!... More

To add some balance to such lopsided reviews, I as manager hereby go on record to state that we operate our guest-house as a business which is fully legitimate and registered with local govt. authorities as required...it does not matter if someone bent on harming us call it a "dharamshala"(charity home) or that ours is a rickety old building--yes, ofcourse,...
