went to Panchmarhi on a weekend. stayed overnight at Amaltas. it's an MP tourism hotel & a budget 1 that too. so it was standard, double bed A/C for Rs. 1100/- per night during discount season. room was very small with just basic facilities. there was continuous water supply. we didn't need to use the geyser..so no way of saying if it was working. The restaurant in the hotel serves only vegetarian fare. we went to China Bowl restaurant in another MP tourism hotel located nearby.
Amaltas premises are quite large..but its not too well maintained. the lawns are overgrown..u ll even find stray cattle grazing. no lamposts at night to guide ur way from reception area to ur room through these grasslands.
For 1 night, we didn't mind, but u can get better hotels at the same rates like Hotel Panchvati or Hilltop. These are all MP tourism hotels & they are situated a little inside Panchmarhi close to the tourist points. Private hotels are on the outskirts. It was easy to go to... more
