The information on the hotel's web-page, while not exactly false, is certainly misleading. About half the rooms have a sea or mountain view; the others face the other apartments in the complex. 'Most rooms' according to the website, have a TV, private balcony and air-conditioning, but our self-catering apartment certainly didn't - the air-con - charged at an extra room rate of 40 Euros per week - was broken and though we asked for it to be mended this wasn't done. Neither did the hotel have an electric fan we could borrow. It is almost impossible to sleep in an enclosed room in June in Crete without cooling ventillation, and the numerous mosquitoes in the area made sleeping with the window open a real trial. Our 'balcony area' - part of the landing serving three different apartments - had very wide gaps in the guard rail, through which even a farily large child could easily have plummeted.
