Stayed here for 2 nights, whilst attending Aspire Studios, which is 1 mile down the road. Great little bar, food excellent and rooms charming, with very reasonable room rates. A discount is available for Aspire Studio guests. Very friendly atmosphere in the bar area, which also has a real log burner. Extensive breakfast menu. It is on the edge of... More

Stayed here for 1 saturday night at the end of jan 2012. We stayed in the double bed room with the four poster bed. To be honest, the room was very small, and so was the bathroom. We paid £5 extra to have the four poster bed'd room however we ended up with a much smaller room as the twin... More

I happened upon the King's Arms by chance, having been sent by the receptionist at the nearby (full) travelodge. Excellent beer, cosy room, and a genuine unpretentious welcome. A breath of fresh air after most French hotels! The lovely full English breakfast was the icing on the cake. Highly recommended. More

We stayeed here for one night as a stop off point. The accomodation is above a quiet pub and is run by Neil with his wife. Neil couldn't do enough for us, telling us about the local area and good places to visit and avoid. The room was small, but vey nicely decorated with lovely views of the countryside. There... More

We went to this restaurant on Sunday with a large party (16 of us) and have to say we were pleased with the overall experience! The food was very good. Everything was fresh and is apparently locally sourced. It was very tasty and well presented and arrived at the table in good time! The service was good, the kids were... More

We stopped off for two nights on our journey between Scotland and the South of England, it is ideally situated, about half way and close to the M6. A genuine inn, used by locals as well as visitors. A very friendly welcome and excellent food. (Tip - if you have to use the Burton Travelodge and fancy a decent meal... More

I stayed a few nights at the Kings Arms when on a photographic training course nearby. The welcome was extremely friendly and the food was delicious and good value. Curry Night was a particular treat! Delicious. More

I stayed here on a walking trip from Lancaster up to Kendal. The room I had was pleasant and the bed comfortable. The food offering is varied and well presented. The breakfast is especially nice. A varied choice of beers is available. One of the great things is that the courtyard is non smoking, one side effect of the no... More

I stopped here while driving North. The village is very close the the M6, but quite unspoiled. The Kings Arms is a genuine old coaching inn, and the publican is genuinely friendly and helpful. I wanted to take a hour or two's walk before dinner, and he gave me good advice; the countryside is just plain pretty, and there are... More
