Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed from the 11th - 13th March for our anniversary. Not sure if it is our 9th or 10th visit to this hotel. Its our place to go for a quick break. As always the place is spotless, the staff are wonderful and the food is delicious. We stayed in room B9 which has been recently refurbished to a high standard and is on an upper floor, it is a lovely room. the beds are really comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. The refurbishment of the restaurant has made it feel more spacious. Just miss the stag picture in the bar area! Just booked again for May. Huge thank you to Emma P, Emma L and Maria plus everyone else who make our stay so pleasant.

I called to book an afternoon tea in for my parents whilst they were away for my mums birthday. On the initial phone call the man was very helpful and took note of dietary needs etc he also noted it was my mums birthday. My parents went this week and had a wonderful time. They said that the staff were so helpful, my dad’s shoe broke and they got glue and mended it for him before he left. They both loved the afternoon tea and said they felt very spoilt. A special surprise happy birthday treat was given to my mum. Thank you to everyone who made their day so enjoyable

Sunday lunch was lovely. And I’m not easy to please! Presented beautifully, generous portions, tasted amazing. Ordered extra sides of veg as expected tiny portions but didn’t need to. Starters were good, although the pidgeon was very a la carte, literally 2 mouthfuls of breast… Desserts presented well, bitters chocolate were good, cheese board good and the brownie. Staff friendly and not snobbish & the restaurant was classy. Would definitely return!

We stayed at Caley Hall as part of a coach trip package to the Thursford Christmas Show. The accommodation was amazing, the food very good and the staff were all friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome. I had never been to this area of the country before and thoroughly enjoyed my time there, particularly Old Hunstanton and its beach. Thank you to all at Caley Hall.

We visited the restaurant on a Friday evening. Warm welcome, good service from the restaurant staff and a very nice meal. Really enjoyed the pigs cheeks and my wife liked the fish pie. The restaurant is modern and newly decorated so very smart but we did think it lacked atmosphere a bit.

Just returned from a small break at this lovely hotel over New Year. We had the best time. We paid extra for a luxury room and we weren't disappointed, lovely large room which was spotlessly clean. Staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble, everyone of them were very friendly and all were approahable. Food was excellent at every meal. All in all we had a fabulous time and we will definitely return.

Four of us stayed 2 nights whilst including a visit to the Christmas lights at Holkham Hall - for which the hotel is very convenient. We all enjoyed our stay with the positives including the bedrooms and bathrooms - very comfortable and clean - tea/coffee facilities excellent - good wifi. The restaurant provided a 5* breakfast - Maria is a terrific personality. Dinner was good but sadly the vegetables with the turkey dinner were rock hard - never had Brussel Sprouts or Broccoli so hard. Potatoes, meat and gravy - excellent. We learnt our lesson the second night and asked for our veg to be cooked to our taste - it worked! Sadly no garden peas available - only mushy, not to our taste. Drink prices appeared reasonable to us. On a cold and windy night the double doors to the restaurant need to be kept closed as if you have a table near the doors it is not very warm. We will certainly stay here again and recommend

This was almost excellent but for a couple of points........Twin room, plenty of floor and storage space. Comfy beds. However, the tiny washbasin ensured flooding around it due to fierce tap output. Likewise shower, very powerful but screen inadequate if slightly careless with positioning ! Floor easily flooded making it unsafe due to tiling. Otherwise, a very good stay, evening food choice ok but limited due to being a coach party. Very good staff, helpful and friendly. Bar prices high.
