I booked the George Hotel but was called by the management on the day of arrival to say that there was a problem with the room and would I stay at Lydney House instead. The hotel is charming, in an old fashioned English pub style. The owners are very helpful and attentive - but then I was the only person in the hotel that evening! My room was small but fine. However the bed was too small and very uncomfortable. more

From the outside, a charming Georgian house with great gardens. However, once inside, the place last saw a decorator when England won the World Cup.
