A hotel in desparate need of cash, love and attention. many of the rooms are in poor order with bath and shower facilities well below par. The decor is straight out of the seventies. On the plus side the staff at the hotel are excellant, offering a friendly nothing is too much trouble service/ the breakfast is always very nice,... more

Good points Perfect location. 5 minutes to the beach. 10 minutes to the spa pavilion. Has pub attached. Car parking Helpful and friendly staff. Bad points Really old wall paper pealing off. Holes in the carpet. Noisy nightclub almost opposite. Locked balcony. You can see it but you can not get out their. After 11pm the door is locked and... more

Stayed 3 nights over the New Year. Had most meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) in the hotel. Food quality and quantity very good. Service (by most Romanian staff) superb...........nothing was too much trouble. Plumbing in bathroom of room 105 could be better but the new owners are attending to these minor problems. We will certainly stay there again more

We stayed one night at this hotel. On the whole it looks as the new owners are trying to bring this hotel up to date. The main problem it seems is trying to balance the amount of staff to the number of guests. And yes there are small problems like the mixer tap on the shower did not work properly. Having... more

I stayed at this hotel for a few nights. While in general things were fine, there were some problems. It seems that since the hotel is not in high season, staff is at a minimum. This made it almost impossible for them to deal with small emergencies or problems, such as lack of electrical cables allowing room appliances to function... more

Me and my partner recently stayed in this hotel and found no problems with it. Unfortunatly we had booked before we found these reviews so we went with a little sceptisism but found that none of the problems outlined in the other reviews were true. We did however find out that the hotel had been taken over at the begining... more

My husband and I spent Saturday and Sunday evening at the Waverley Hotel in Felixstowe (8th and 9th July). I was appalled at the state of not only the hotel but mostly of our bedroom -room 209. We arrived early evening 8th and just put our bags in the room and went out for supper. The following morning the following... more

Management response from
waverleyhotel, Marketing Manager

Hi - The Waverley Hotel was taken over by new management in mid-August and we would agree that the hotel had been badly let go and was not clean and had not received any loving care for some time. Our outstanding house-keeping team spent weeks bringing the hotel up to scratch and management have subsequently totally refurbished the bar to...

Stayed 1 night 27 August 2005. Outside of hotel in dire need of a lot of tenderness. Room had badly stained carpet, torn curains, no handle on window, so therefore could not shut it, stained shower curain, torn bath mat, carpet smelled terrible of urine. Kettle smelled of urine!! Complaints fell on deaf ears, glad to get out in one... more
