My husband and I stayed at the Field Inn in Leiston on a business trip. The Inn is very convenient to downtown Leiston (within a 5 minute walk) and a short drive to the Sizewell power plants.
The owner Herbie Wood was extremely helpful and accommodating. He even drove us to the closest train station in the next town over when we didn't have a car!
This was our first experience in England, so we weren't really sure what to expect. The house is very "English" (uniquely Victorian and homey) and Herbie maintains a great "come and go as you please" atmosphere. We felt very safe and got to know other guests during breakfast. Herbie will serve pretty much anything you can think of, but I highly recommend the traditional English breakfast with eggs, baked beans, toast, black pudding or sausage, and grilled tomatoes.
