Just back from weekend at Blyth. Hotel was clean, comfortable and had sufficient facilities for our needs---well-stocked bar with good choice of beer and wines, also a very cheery restaurant. We eat at the hotel both nights as food was good, albeit not cheap. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable and provided everything you... More

We are a family of four with two adult children and a dog, all made to feel most welcome by the convivial host Richard! Southwold Room is light and spacious with great power shower (jacuzzi not used). Twin room was compact but fine for the night. Breakfast was excellent , lots of options to choose from and quality ingredients. The... More

We stopped for two nights at end of May on a Groupon deal. Room was lovely and spacious as well as nicely furnished, welcome bag of biscuits for our dog! Staff at hotel were very friendly and obliging, breakfast was really nice. Didn't eat there at night, bar menu was too limited for my veggie wife and restaurant a little... More

We stayed at The Blyth after reading good reviews of the hotel but were somewhat disappointed in the food especially as it had several awards in recent years . We opted for fish and chips which were on " SPECIAL " at £7.50 . The chips were absolutely awful having been dunked and recooked what seemed like several times in... More

I've visited Southwold many times since about 1979, but this was my first stay at the Blyth (we usually visit for a week and go self-catering). Welcoming check in and quickly dealt with, we were booked into The Southwold Suite. A large, airy room with Laura Ashley furniture and possibly the biggest cathode-ray tube TV I've ever seen! Also the... More

Stayed as a spur of the moment decision for dinner, bed and breakfast. Very comfortable and pleasant staff. Dinner was delicious as was breakfast. All rooms £99 b & b so good value. Had an accident with red wine and white bed linen! All dealt with , no fuss! Will be staying again soon.

I booked a one night stay here as I had been quite a few times and fancied just a night away with my friend to re charge the batteries. I phoned and spoke to sam who informed me they had an offer on of £99 for any room so when I was offered the southwold room I jumped at the... More

We stayed in the Blyth Hotel in SouthWold over the last May Bank Holiday 2013. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were on the top floor, to the side of the hotel and had a quiet room with a reasonable amount of space. Room was tired and bed was too soft for us. Breakfast menu was very good and... More

I was advised by a local to stay at The Crown and eat at The Swan in Southwold, and unfortunately I ignored that advice and both stayed and ate at The Blyth. It wasn't worth the money! The food was can only be described as okay, ie not particularly special, a little bit greasy and certainly overpriced. I did not... More

Because it is true that the staff at the Blyth Hotel are superb, very friendly and helpful but I feel shortchanged following my stay. I booked our room absolutely months in advance of the wedding we were attending as other hotels in Southwold (it turns out inaccurately), had indicated they were already fully booked online. It seems to be a... More
