Nice, clean, well managed with courteous staff. Good value for the price. Kids stay free. Not a full English breakfast but filling and well supplied. Great location for touring Essex and a getting a good night's sleep. A great restrauant is just a two minute walk and fast food establishments right across the highway. Our second time here and well... more

With a family wedding in the area I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express along with other wedding guests. The hotel is very well situated with ample parking, the staff are very friendly, willing and efficient and there is an excellent pub/restaurant on site. The rooms are spotless, with tea/coffee facilities, tv, internet etc, although the bathroom looks a little... more

Stayed here as we were getting an early flight the next morning from Stansted. Paid £49 for no frills Holiday Inn Express family room which included breakfast. Just missed out on paying £29 for the room (one of their special deals) which would have been a bargain. Room was on the ground floor and was spotless, quiet (next to a... more

This hotel is pretty much the same as all Holiday Inn Express hotels throughout the UK, simple functional hotels with basic but well designed rooms. I stopped here in winter and like other reviewers found the bedding a bit lightweight for the temperature, although the heating did make up for this. Location is great, with a nice pub next door... more

This Holiday Inn Express is like any other, large rooms but service is low. Breakfast was terrible. There is a good pub next door where you can have a good diner. more

A good and efficient hotel that is perfect for a short stay (we stayed for 1 night ). Was able to check in early (13.00) and was helped by very attentive and welcoming staff. I can understand why the Express fanchise is doing so well across the UK. Would recommend and stay again. more

My partner and I stayed at this hotel whilst visiting relatives in Great Dunmow. I had my reservations about booking it, as I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Leith, Edinburgh, and thought it was a complete rip off. However, at £55 per night, the Braintree one is cheaper than some travel lodges, and a great breakfast is included... more

As far as budget hotels go, this is better than most. My room was large and appeared recently renovated. I had no problems checking in at midnight and breakfast was good considering it's complimentary. Checking out was also easy. This hotel is probably used mostly by people travelling through Stansted Airport and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else -... more
