Stayed for one night as stopover before Stanstead flight. Car parking overbooked. Room carpet was filthy & bath had obviously been dripping for months as stained and marked, tap wouldnt turn off. Bathroom dirty. Bar service poor - almost had to serve myself. Didnt risk breakfast or evening meal. Overall a cheap hotel and you get what you pay for.... more

Took my girlfriend to stay at the white hall hotel and we both loved it the hotel is really nice and charming the staff at the hotel are wonderful and the food was lovely really enjoyed I’m already booked in for the winter holidays. more

It's black mould around the bath - surely this is blatently obvious to the owners/housekeeper, and there is no excuse for it. Apart from that, this hotel is in the middle of nowhere - they can't even get you a morning paper, it being so far from civilisation. The Whitehall is a charming old Hotel, full of history, the rooms are not the four wall sterile type hotel run by the larger hotel chains, creeking floorboards, wooden beams and low celings add to the charm of this hotel. We stayed at this hotel last weekend. We were attending a wedding there and arrived a little early to check in. Our room was not quite ready and we were offerred freshly brewed coffee served with delicious choccie biscuits in the lovely garden. We stayed at the hotel in Dec 2006. The staff were extremely friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom was large, comfortable and very clean, yes....there was a little disrepair in the room but to be honest I'd expect this is such an old building and I feel it all adds to the character of the place.... more

Stayed at the Hotel with my husband. Fabulous room, clean and nicely furnished. Staff very friendly and attentive. Restaurant is lovely and the food was fantastic. Would highly recommend and would certainly return more
