Our most recent stay was the second time here and we will visit again. Anne and John our hosts are delightful, friendly and discreet. From the moment we arrive through to leaving, we are treated extremely well and we could not wish for better. We leave feeling refreshed and as though we have been on holiday for a week, even... We stayed for just one night but could easily have stayed longer in this beautiful barn conversion in the midst of the Essex countryside. Our welcome by Camilla, the owner's daughter, was warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, from a lift to the wedding that we were attending nearby, taxi's booked for our return trip and even... We both loved the ambience and locality, and wanted something very different from the ubiquitous chain hotel business meeting setting that usually relates to poor setting and consequent noise. The building has absolute charm and character. The hosts made us very welcome and the facilities there were excellent. The breakfasts were first class and the parking more than adequate. Coupled... Despite choosing one of the coldest nights of the Winter we received a warm and friendly welcome. There were daffodils in our room; a cheering reminder that Spring will come. Our room was comfortable with so many extras that made us feel that we were being royally entertained. It was such a treat to have a cafetiere with real (Fairtrade)... More

This converted barn is an absolute architectural delight, full of natural light and style. We had a great stay. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful with swift responses and suggestions. Very easy to reach from London, it is the perfect weekend to break hectic London life and relax in the countryside.

I returned home last week from a nine night stay at Bury Farm Bed and Breakfast. I needed somewhere near Broomfield Hospital ...what can I say....I struck gold. I stayed in the Garden Room and it was much more than I could have wished for in a bed and breakfast. The double room was quiet, spacious and very well equipped... More

We stayed at Bury Farm last weekend as we had a family wedding in Chelmsford. There were three couples in our party and we booked all three rooms. All the arrangements were made extremely easy due to Anne's efficiency - she responded to every email immediately and the details of our stay were quickly established even down to her recommendations... We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome by the very hospitable owners of this beautiful B&B in a stunning barn conversion. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay even though it was only for one night. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean with tasteful modern decor, and the bathroom was huge. We immediately felt relaxed in the completely peaceful setting.... More

Unfortunately we only stayed for one night but it was the nicest bed and breakfast my wife and I have ever stayed in. The owners were really friend and respected our space, yet they were incredibly friendly and made you feel at home in their company. The Barn and room was beautiful and cosy. The breakfast was perfect. Fresh, tasty,... More

Beautiful countryside in often overlooked Essex. You need a gps to negotiate these back lanes. Very welcoming indeed. Almost nothing overlooked and Anne's breakfasts 1st class. Good pubs in area include Green Man in Howe Street and the newly upgraded Pint and Pie.
