Clacton Travelodge is very central with shops, amusements, seafront and pier only a few minutes walk away. The staff are absolutely lovely and so helpful, especially Mary who is a super lady. Absolute bargain for £15 a night. Quiet and comfortable, very clean room. Exceptionally helpful and friendly receptionist. Good breakfast just round the corner at 'Taste' a local cafe. Central location, easy car parking opposite.

Dont get me wrong... The location is good if you are staying in Clacton as it is quite central to everything. The rooms are very basic. The bed (and fold out bed which I stayed on) you could feel the springs when you sat on them but in saying this, I actually had a nice nights sleep the 6 nights... More

Travelled from York, receptionist friendly on arrival.. room disappointing - absolute minimum..no loo roll, no remote for tv. needed cleaning - bathroom floor very dirty - each time I went to reception - no one around. This is a new style Travelodge, and I found it clean and what you expect. I must say it was the friendliest welcome/greeting I have ever received at a Travelodge, which was very nice. Some room from the outside look like they may have patio/French windows, but I only had a small square window. A bargain at £19 a night.

From the outside it looks really rough like a backstreet hostel. Reception is minimalistic but inviting and the receptionist was helpful. On arrival to the Travel Lodge we were told only one room was booked when two were. After that matter was delt with we had no spare furnishings for the spare bed. We repeatly asked but it was obvious they were short staffed. The shower when pressed was firing scalding water when first turned on.
