A lovely place all the rooms are named after famouse mistresses. We stayed in the one named Lady Hamilton which was lovely. We had a meal in the restaurant which was excellent. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is beautiful overlooking the Essex countryside. An excellent place to unwind within easy reach of London.

nice place good room , pub staff very helpful , food very good , but expensive , breakfast staff abrupt & grumpy , may have been a bad day , all in all would stay again , but i would not bother with breakfast , shame .
