I had arranged an 80th Birthday dinner for my mother which had been booked since the beginning of the year. I had my doubts from the beginning but it was ten times worse. I had thought other reviews were written by moaning minnies but it was far worse than I could ever have envisaged. The function should have involved reception... more

Very nice, re-updated hotel. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional at all times. Breakfast was good and restaurant meals superb. We were in a modern, clean, updated room which was very quiet and comfortable. The garden/terrace area is wonderful to sit out in when the weather is nice. Would book again and recommend thid pleasant hotel. more

Stayed here while I was on a training course in Southend, the staff were friendly and helpful, the bar and atmosphere was excellent, I didn't try the food at night, but the breakfast was really good. Slight problems with the TV, but apparently that's due to be fixed this week. more

I had family staying at this hotel and arrived to collect them one morning. I went to the reception desk and asked if my family were about. I was then spoken to in a most unpleasant and abrupt manner. I was told that they could not give out guest information!!! I explained that i knew they were staying at this... more

Front of house was great, had expected rooms to be the same but what a difference. Rooms certainly need updating. Bar and restaurant closed due to private function - what about your guests!!!!! Also had the pleasure of being under the "family" room which at the time had 3 children staying - what a commotion - had to listen to... more
