We normally tend to stay in larger hotels, but this place had been recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed. Our room was a good size and very comfortable. “Brilliant value, great hospitality and dog friendly”

“Excellent family pub”

Found this pub on a yell.com search and we went as it had good reviews for all the family and cycling. It is within 5 mins of beechenhurst lodge and excellent food. “Wonderful Weekend Away in the Forest”

We went to visit some friends who were staying at the nearby campsite. We don't camp so decided to stay in B&B. Used this place as a meeting point before heading to Whitemead campsite to pitch our tents. Found the place to be warm and friendly and happyly not pretending to be something it isn't. Called in on a lunchtime. Good beef curry and scampi. Real ale in fine condition. Prompt service. Hard to fault. Probably the best pub in the area
