Came across this pub by chance. Had a lovely lunch. Superb food. Staff very attentive. We are only in the area for a couple of weeks. have already booked a table for 7 of us for this week end. Cant wait to try the game pie again :-) Didn't stay over night but would have no qualms of recommending this... More

My family enjoyed a small birthday celebration Sunday lunch here a few days before Christmas. We do not often eat out on a Sunday as I find I can cook better quality at home, but the food here was delicious!!! We ordered Hallumi cheese / pate for starters and roast beef / pork for main. The meat was very soft... More

My wife booked an over night stay at the The Cross Keys for the first night of a touring holiday. She found the details on the internet and we were very pleased with our experience. There are just 4 rooms. Ours was en suite, quiet and clean with a large bed. The pub food in the evening was good with... More

This B&B was recommended to us by a friend. We had a lovely 3 course meal....Very tasty. We both had the Steak & Ale pie which we found delightful. The Cross Keys is well known for their pies....plenty of filling. We booked a double room & it was just off the pub & perfect for us. Very clean & quiet.....Perfect!... More

We mostly stayed right in villages during our recent trip, for our final stay before London we went country and stayed in a rural location and we were pleasantly suprised. The rooms were comfortable, good bathrooms, rooms were not large, but it was so relaxing not to have to search for food and to have a very nice meal right... More

We have four kids so a quality outdoor non-chain meal can be tough to find when the weather's good. Not any more - The Cross Keys was ideal. Warm welcome, toys and play area for the kids, stunning location and cracking food. A couple of minor glitches with the order but all put right with a smile - so who... More

I booked a double room for one night to include breakfast. We were welcomed with smiles and shown to a very nice large room (in the outside chalet) with en suite. I found the attention to detail wanting - the pub and room needed a bit more care in terms of cleaning BUT the warm welcome helped us to ignore... More

If you’re looking for a proper pub, with great walks and good food and beer, this is just the ticket. an ideal place if you’re working nearby. Friendly locals, log fire, and a mad (Good Mad) Jack Russell! It’s so much better than Lenny Henry, and a Premier Inn! I recommend the Rabit Pies!

Visited for Sunday Lunch as the reviews were good. The welcome did not deserve the name! We were the only ones in the restaurant and the atmosphere was non-existent. Food was nothing special but the service was abysmal. Staff all seemed to be youngish and it was frustrating to hear them laughing and joking between themselves whilst they ignored us.... More

What a super place to break our journey from the ferry at Portsmouth, back home to Yorkshire. Everything was exceptional, the food, the accommodation and the staff. We would highly recommend The cross keys Inn. You do have to trust the sat nav as it is a bit off the beaten track but well worth the journey.
