It's difficult to add to what has already been said about Taverners Cottage. We received a very warm welcome from Judith the owner when we arrived for a 2 night stay and she greeted us with a tray with tea and freshly baked cherry scones when we arrived. The bedroom on the 1st floor was very comfortable and spotlessly clean.... More

I stayed here for 1 night with my friend and my dog. I cannot add more than the reviews already listed. The room was very comfortable and everything you would wish for in a bed and brekfast. Added to the hospitality tray were bottles of water, still and sparkling, and bottles of fruit squash. I took my dog who was... More

We stayed 1 night in October and had a very comfortable night in the room at the front of the house, excellent breakfast, a warm welcome on arrival and lots of useful advice on places to eat in the evening (the Oak Inn was excellent for evening meal but book early). Need to drive to get to a local restauant... More

Having stayed in many many B&B's over the years this one tops the lot. Judith the owner has thought of everything. If you're looking for added value and a B&B with an X factor this is it - fantastic. Breakfast simply outstanding. We could go on listing all the positives, but just come and try it for yourself, you won't... More

Bed & breakfast doesn't get better than this! I stayed 2 nights in July and could not fault the accomodation or the breakfast and the hosts were lovely people who clearly aimed to please. The breakfast was amazing. An incredible selection with lovely freshly made juices. The full English breakfast was substantial and cooked to order to a high standard.... More

Stayed here for 5 nights and it lived up to all the good reviews we had previously read. After a warm welcome from Judith and John we found a lovely cosy room. The choice of menu and quality of food at breakfast was excellant. Would definately recommend and book again. Thanks Judith and John. More

Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay. Breakfast was very good and nearly everything was homemade, with some excellent choices. The homemade smoked haddock fish cakes where excellent. Certainly go again and have already recommended to friends. More

This B and B is special- the cottage is 300 years old, so it is a real treat to stay in such a pretty and cosy place. Judith is a charming and warm host who makes you feel at home right away. The room, bed and bathroom (shower only) were spotlessly clean and fresh, and there were thoughtful extras- I... More
