We stayed at Harpenden House Hotel with a group (as we attended a wedding at a different location nearby). The rooms are clean and the beds are good - every one of us had a good night's sleep. The service is very good - friendly staff. And the breakfast was very nice too. more

We arrived early and the reception staff were very accommodating. Provided tea/coffee service while we waited for our rooms. The staff had us in our rooms by 11 am. My husband and I had the priviledge of staying in the main hotel and the furnishings (to include a four poster bed) were beautiful. Very spacious living area and even spacier... more

Spotlessly clean, pleasant staff, all you really needed in a room, free wi-fi. Not an out of this world experience but hard to find fault, it did everything it needed well. more

We were very pleased with room (57) we were given on ground floor of new building - it was very spacious and looked newly renovated. Window on to back car park but that didn't bother us (parking all round the hotel so this car park seemed to be an overfill and not really used much). Plenty of mirrors and sockets... more

Stayed 1night on 19 August, arrived at reception - staff member (Kevin) was on the phone. Did not look at me or made any eye contact, had to wait for about 5 minutes until he was off the phone. This hotel is wonderful, it's in a beautiful town overlooking cricket on the green. The food is delicious, the staff so attentive and the accommodation is excellent. I use this hotel regularly and they have never let me down. They go out of their way to please and have very high standards. I would totally recommend it to everyone. more

The staff at this hotel have to be seen to be believed. While polite and courteous they are extremely inefficient and do not seem to know how things should be done correctly. Breakfast was a shambles. Not really somewhere I would go again. more

I'm not sure what this place was like before, but I found it to be an excellent hotel. I was there to attend a family funeral. The staff were both helpful & sympathetic. The rooms were clean & comfortable. The breakfast was both plentiful & of good quality. The room rates were very reasonable, particularly for that part of England.... more
