I've commented previously that the Ramada (aka the Comet) was in decline. I have no choice in where I stay which is why I keep going back. However, on my last visit in late January 2009, the standard of the staff seemed to be much improved. This comment applies to the front-desk staff as well as the restaurant staff. I... more

I would have liked to have given this hotel 4 stars, but the couple of things which were 'wrong' were quite major things really. The hotel itself, in an 'art deco' theme, is looking a little tired, but otherwise well looked after. The good: I stayed for 3 nights for a business trip, so location wasn't really an issue, as... more

Lovely decor, helpful and pleasant staff Sprinkler head in my room covered by a plastic bag - receptionist advised this was because the sprinkler was broken I was on the 1st floor - noisy/rowdy guests in another part of the hotel Fire alarm started ringing around 1pm and continued intermittently through the night. Still ringing when I checked out at... more

Quite slow check in, there was only one person in front of us and it still took about 25 mins Stayed there Fri thru Mon, well would have had we not checked out a day early. The room was ok but we spent all weekend trying to get access to the wireless internet (something I required for work and hence... more

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Ramada Hotel Hatfield and all I can say is "I´ll be back"!! Checked in with ease, room spotless, hotel food magnificent, overall experience 100% total satisfaction. Only downside to the stay......too near the big shopping mall (The Galleria) wallet took a right bashing thanks to the wife!!!! (only kidding). Next time... more

I stayed with colleagues at the Ramada, which is bizarely situated on a major roundabout, &, I have to say, doesn't look very nice from the outside. However, once inside it was much better, the staff were friendly and the room was fine. If anything lets it down it was the breakfast - a bit basic, but the hotel is... more

Don't go by outward appearance! It looks awful outside (is it Preserved as 'historic'?!) but the rooms are well above average; almost all the rooms (I've stayed here many times, in addition to many other hotels thruout UK & USA) have Japanese power showers.. large, powerful, massaging! The rooms are well appointed and very high standard. The restaurant is less... more

First time I've stayed here for a while - now a Ramada Jarvis - I was interested see what the Ramada experience would be like. First impressions not good - a few people in front of me to check in, and an overbearing smell of cigarette smoke - yuck. Once checked in, went to my room. First impressions here were... more

Really terrible. It's a hotel with an interesting history, since it is right by the old Comet airfied. It must have been elegant in its time...an art deco hotel built in the hey-day of aircraft evolution. It is even a listed building and you can catch glimspes of why - a fabulous art deco staircase which sadly you can't go... more
